Lodging for Dogs

At Connie Winters’ Pet Resort, our canine guests enjoy the country life and get to be treated like royalty. You can rest assured that your dog will be safe, secure and happy while he or she enjoys the country vacation resort that caters only to pets! Amenities include:

Deluxe Vacation activity package and king sized Suite -includes an upgraded king sized room with large Kuranda bed and home like furnishings, and daily maid service multiple times per day. Fresh water is always available and food is served as per owner directions. The Deluxe Vacation Activity Package includes 3 activity sessions customized to your dog’s energy and interest levels (see Exercise pkg. details below). The Deluxe pkg also includes 4 business trips. Rate for Deluxe Vacation activity pkg. and king sized Suite: $65.00 per day
Super Dog Accommodations - includes a comfortable private cabin, with a Kuranda bed, and daily maid service multiple times per day. Fresh water is always available and food is served as per owner directions. Super Dog Activity pkg. includes 2 activity sessions customized to your dog’s energy and interest levels (see Exercise pkg. details below). Rate for Super Dog Activity pkg and standard cabin accommodations $50.00 per day

Exercise packages can include pool time, cuddle time , nature walk, playing ball, playing on play ground equipment, enrichment games. Exercise sessions are done rain or shine in either one of our large outdoor play yards or in our atrium on the special K-9 grass yard. What does your dog like best? We aim to please all of our guests!

Activities at the Pet Resort

Every season brings new exciting things to do. During the winter months, our guests chase snow balls, sled ride and make snow angels or play in the Atrium on special K-9 grass where they can run and play with the staff out of the cold and ice. Spring brings all the smells of green grass and lounging in the warm sun with belly rubs from the staff. Summer is for Frisbee and ball games, practicing on the agility equipment and then cooling off in the pools and eating pupicles. Playing in the fallen leaves, watching the wildlife around the resort, maybe getting Breakfast in bed or one of the delicious Holiday dinners that are available in the fall. There is always something special happening at Connie Winters’ Pet Resort.

Individual Exercise Pkg - includes 15 minute playtime and a potty break with a staff member, you and your pet get to pick the activity, that they will enjoy the most. Rate $9.50
Holiday Dinners - served for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve (cookies & milk with Santa) Christmas dinner. Picnic dinners for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Rate $6.00 per serving
Special treats -can be ordered anytime. Breakfast in bed, Yappy Hour, Stuffed Kongs, Pupsicles, Frozen yogurt are a few of the favorites. Rates: $1.00 to $3.00 per serving. Please ask what is available today!

Dog Day Camp and Day Care

Most dogs are social creatures and enjoy spending time playing with their friends, both
four legged and two legged. The many benefits to attending either Camp or Day care:

Lots of exercise, dogs go home and fall asleep, making life much easier on their family
Dogs learn life skills such as waiting, car rides, meeting new people and new dogs
Social skills with other dogs such as appropriate play, greeting other dogs, arousal level control and making new and lasting friendships
Camp counselors teach and practice basic obedience skills during camp sessions
Less destructive behaviors at home
Social interaction between pet families
Less anxiety for pet parent about leaving dog home alone
Even if pet does not enjoy, or is not suited for the social Camp program, they will benefit from Individual Day Care. The activities at Connie Winters’ Pet Resort are geared to keep all pets, healthy, happy and safe. Day care is a great way to introduce your pet to Connie Winters’ Pet Resort so they understand that you will be returning for them when you are traveling.

Lodging for Cats

At Connie Winters’ Pet Resort, our cat guests enjoy the country life in safe, clean, spacious, multi- level private cabins. Our kitty area has it’s own sun-porch with soft beds, toys, climbing spaces, high and low spaces to hide and lots of large screened windows to watch the birds and other wildlife. You can rest assured that your cat will be happy, safe and content with lots of attention, while she enjoys the country vacation resort that caters only to pets! Amenities include:

Kitty Castle Package & Suite - include a large temperature controlled multi- story castle with large climbing furniture with soft bedding, private hiding areas, their own window seats, fresh litter box, and daily maid service, multiple times per day. Fresh water is always available and food is served as per owner directions. Castle Suites also include 2 cuddles and playtime ($19.00 value) with a staff member, plus lots extra private free time in sunporch to enjoy nature from the window sills, or curl up for a nap on our cat tree. Kitty Castle Suite & Playtime Package starts as low as $32.00 per day
Standard Accommodations - include a temperature controlled one level private cabin, with a loft bed and blankets, fresh litterbox, daily maid service multiple times per day. Fresh water is always available and food is served as per owner directions. 15 min. private free time on sun porch per day included. Rates starting as low as $20.00 per day. Extra cuddle & playtime available - $9.50/ 15 min. session.

Grooming Spa & Styling Salon for Dogs & Cats

All pets are happier and healthier when they are clean and well groomed. Our grooming salon with state of the art amenities is a quiet, soothing retreat, away from exciting activities going on though out the rest of the resort.

Our Nationally Certified Master Groomer, Jennifer Crytzer, (formerly head instructor with the now closed Romani’s Pet World) has many years of experience in grooming, teaching, and showing. Our Spa staff is kind, gentle, patient and experienced to offer your pet a wonderful grooming experience.

Spoil your pet by scheduling grooming during their stay or schedule a spa day for your pet.
Include a soothing bath, special shampoo, coat conditioners and cologne designed for your pet's hair coat.
Nail trimming, nail filing and pad trimming.
Sanitary cleaning includes ear cleaning and private area cleanup.
Styling or shortening of your pet's coat depending on breed, age and your preferences.
Blueberry facials, specialty shampoos, nail polish are also available.
Spa sessions are complete with bows or bandanas and cologne to make your pet feel really special and well loved.
Please fill out the reservation form, and we will call you back to make your actual reservation. There are too many variables of grooming time, drying time, and extra time needed for puppies first haircut or older pets needing to rest, for our reservation system to keep up.

Dog Training and Learning to Speak "Dog"

Your dog loves being part of your family, but sometimes doesn’t always understand their position in your “pack”. Training helps your dog understand what you expect of them and allows the two of you to form a strong bond and partnership.

Basic commands all dogs should know are sit, down, stay, walk nicely on a leash, come when called and leave it. We use up to date positive reward training methods and allow dogs to learn new skills at their own pace and in their own way.

Today’s society expects dogs to have social skills that allow them to participate in activities with their family such as being friendly with people, without jumping on them, knowing how to play with other dogs, and manners in the car.

We offer group and private training classes throughout the year. Most of our training classes takes place in our light, airy atrium, one of our large fenced-in play yards, or our heated/ air-conditioned home-like training room, but we also do field trips to get more socialization or to work on specific issues.

We have several different group training options available:

Puppy Pre- School Social Hour is for new pet parents and puppies between 12 weeks and 5 months at the start of class. Puppy socialization is extremely important for a successful lifetime with a new family. Socialization is the primary goal of this course, but we also cover other important puppy stuff, such as housetraining, how and why to use a crate, walking on a lead, sit and other useful aids to grow a wonderful family pet. Class meets once per week for 6 sessions. Cost is $250.00 including all training materials. Reservations required in advance
AKC Puppy STAR is the beginning training course is for dogs who have little to no training, Dogs should be 5 months or older. Class meets once per week for 6 sessions with testing for the Puppy STAR medal at end of course. This course covers sit, down, stay, leash walking, come, how to replace bad behaviors with good behaviors and social interactions between dogs and people. Cost is $250.00 including all training materials. Reservations required in advance
Intermediate Dog Skills is for dogs usually over the age of 1 year who need more training with walking on a lead, sit, down, stay, come, leave it, and good social skills to function in today’s world. Class meets once per week for 6 sessions. Cost is $250.00 including all training materials. Reservations required in advance. Prerequisite: Puppy STAR class.
AKC Canine Good Citizen training course is for dogs who have passed the AKC Puppy STAR class and the Level 2 Intermediate Dog skills class and is ready to move on being a Good Citizen dog who is ready for more advanced training and socializing. Many of our students use this course as a steppingstone for therapy work or before starting agility training. Course covers advanced training for all basic commands, field trips for social interactions and assignments to reach individual goals. Passing the final test leads to the Canine Good citizen title. Class meets once per week for 6 sessions. Cost is $250.00 including all training materials. Reservations required in advance. Prerequisite: Must pass pre-entrance exam or have attended CWPR’s Basic Puppy STAR, and Intermediate Dog skills classes

Private Training Sessions | 6-session minimum

Private Training Sessions are a one-on-one session with our trainer. Private sessions are useful to the pet parent who cannot commit to a weekly class or who is uncomfortable handling their dog in a group class. This is a great option for the first-time pet owner to learn how to speak “DOG,” coping with the aggressive or separation anxious dog or the dog owner who wants some advanced training for therapy or service dog work. Cost is $360.00 for 6 sessions to be used within three months of first class

Other Training Classes:

Lodge and Learn Boarding Package
Lodge and Learn Boarding Package is designed for the family that would like to return from vacation to a dog who has learned several new commands. This 5-day package includes multiple training sessions throughout the day and the discipline of expected behaviors each time a staff member interacts with your dog. A short private training session for the family is also included.

Cost is $335.00 for 5 days training and board or $610.00 for 10 days.
Jump Start Training
Jump Start Training is a daily training program that combined with either our Daycare or our Dog Camp program, helps to train or keep your dog learning new skills each day they are here with us. It is like our Lodge and Learn Pkg. except your dog goes home each evening.

Cost is $12.00 per day or pre-paid package of 10 days for $110.00.
